Right now, Indonesia and other parts of South East Asia are covered in smog due to an out-of-control fire that's burning so intensely, its toxic smoke and devastation can be seen all the way from outer space. The main cause of this fire? Slash and burn farming techniques by the #PalmOil industry, which is destroying millions of acres of land (and in turn, the homes of humans and endangered animals alike.) You might not know it but you may have eaten palm oil (the root of this problem) today as it's an ingredient in many products we buy, including many brands of candy, pizza crust and most shampoos,  But don't despair, there are ways to produce palm oil without destroying the planet.
